Personal Info

I am a PGA Master Professional who has been teaching and coaching the game since 1980 when I turned pro after a college golf scholarship at Georgia Southern College (University).  I have played in 3 PGA Tour Tournaments, 7 Web.com tournaments, 5 PGA National Club Professional Championships and 1 Senior PGA National Club Professional Championship.  I have developed one junior player from beginning to PGA Tour Professional, a High School sophomore who didn’t play golf to a full scholarship women’s golf team member at Mt. Olive College and so many players that just wanted to enjoy the game to the best of their abilities.

My teaching philosophy allows the individual students own skill sets develop the golf motion that is most easily repeated for them.  Short game coaching that allows the individual to get the ball from off the green into the hole in as few strokes as possible and putting techniques that blend with the individuals intuitive skills.  I will utilize the Foresight launch monitor as well as an Ipad for video if the situation warrants it, but I believe that allowing the student to develop a swing motion that they can repeat is the best method as I assist with my visual expertise.  I enjoy teaching all skill levels and am very comfortable in group clinic opportunities.

Experience

I am a PGA Master Professional and wrote my thesis “Don’t Just Preach It, Teach It: Understanding The Learning Process.”  I believe that there is a communication process that each individual student learns through and I find that avenue to exploit and deliver instruction through that channel.  There is no one way for everyone, but there is one way for every individual.
