Personal Info

My first job was on the golf course picking range balls in a little town in Montana.

From the moment I hit my first golf ball in the air, I was hooked!

I have been very fortunate in my life to have great mentors.

Bill Larsen in Bozeman, Montana was my first teacher.  I loved watching him hit golf balls and marvelled at how easy he made golf look.

Ed and Mary Mattson had profound impact on me as I worked for them at Madison Meadows Golf Course in Ennis, Montana.  Ed had been a PGA golf professional since 1927 and Mary turned pro at age 66!  Ed shot 3 over par the last time I played with him when he was 83 years old.  Mary was the best beginner instructor I have ever been around!

These two together taught me golf and how to treat people.  They mentored me in the golf business and I watched them enjoy the game!

I became better and earned my way onto the University of Idaho golf team in 1991.

In 1996 I turned professional and have taught thousands of golf lessons to all kinds of people ages 3 to 93.

I have been a teaching professional full time since 2001.  I have taught 3 high school state champions, several amazing amateurs and many, many others!  I love seeing people getting  joy out of the game that I’ve learned so much from.  I love seeing families playing golf together!

I built Airway Hills Golf Center because I wanted to be able to teach golf the rest of my life.  I also very much enjoy the golf business.  I love the people I get to be around every day!
