Teaching Philosophy

Every student is different, from their build, to their goals.  I start by working with the student to determine what they want to accomplish over the course of our partnership.

I chose the term “partnership” because success is as much the responsibility of the instructor as it is of the student.  I will impart as much knowledge and provide as much feedback as possible, but it is up to the student to put in the time and effort to supplement the lessons.

The foundation of a good golf swing starts with three elements before the swing even takes place:  Grip, Aim, and Posture.  If these items are fundamentally sound it gives the student’s body the best opportunity to work properly throughout the golf swing.  The several keys I focus on during the swing are proper body movement and sequencing, shaft plane and the squareness of the clubface at impact.

There are three types of learners visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.  In order help the student achieve the most, my lessons incorporate all three, making use of video and a variety of training aids.

Everyone hits good shots.  The question is “how good are the bad ones?” If the bad ones get better, the student will improve.  I fully believe that with hard work and a solid partnership all your goals are obtainable.  There is nothing more rewarding than hearing about a students’ success.
