Paul Johnson, PGA

Through high school, I was fortunate enough to be taught by two instructors: Tom Treese and Dan Shelton, PGA.  Because of these two coaches, they guided me and my progress to earn a college golf scholarship at Huntingdon College.  While at Huntingdon, I earned 1st Team All-American honors twice and our team won two N.A.I.A. National Championships.  After college, it took me six years before I took the plunge into the professional ranks.  Unfortunately, due to shoulder injuries, my professional playing career ended before it really took off.

My shoulder setback did jumpstart my teaching career and in 2008, I was elected into membership of the Professional Golfer’s Association of America, or PGA.  Also in 2008, I was awarded the PGA Dixie Section “Junior Golf Leader of the Year” and a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Junior Instructors Honorable Mentioned award.  In 2009, I became certified in the Titleist Performance Institute’s, or TPI, golf fitness training certifications and became certified in the TPI Junior Golf certification.  Within the TPI Junior Golf certification, I am one of three certified junior golf instructors in the state of Alabama.

I live in Daphne, Alabama, with my wife, Michelle, and my three kids: Carter, Ellie Grace, and Luke.  I do continue to play competitive professional golf and work as the Head Golf Professional at Lake Forest Golf Club.
