Personal Info
Pamela’s teaching philosophy is very transparent. Instead of trying to
recreate a student’s golf swing, she tries to incorporate the basic fundamentals
of the golf swing into her student’s current style. Pamela believes it
is extremely important to understand the type of learner that she is working
with and customizes her lesson to that learning style. A student can either be a
verbal, kinesthetic, or visual learner. It is not uncommon for an individual to
have a combination of learning styles. Pamela explores these learning styles
within her students and then establishes a lesson plan based on the type of
learner her student is. She incorporates drills, teaching aids, pictures, and
thought processes that her student can relate to in order to make the necessary
changes to his/her swing.
After 20+ years of teaching, Pamela has worked with individuals at all skill levels. One area she is adamant about is having her student’s become more aware of his/her own personal strengths and weaknesses. It is critical to understand what area(s) of the game needs the most attention and Pamela helps students become aware of their true strengths and weaknesses. Prioritizing the area(s) of weakness is a critical step in the process of reaching your true potential in the game of golf. Pamela prides herself in developing customized programs that cater to those weaknesses and has received many praises from her students over the years for lowering their scores.
Pamela is also a certified club fitter. She believes that an individual can not reach their greatest potential with ill fitted clubs. Many variables must be considered to ensure that a players clubs are properly customized to fit their body habitus and personal preferences.
