Personal Info

My name is Glenn Haugsjaa and have been a PGA Professional for over 30 years.  I was the Director of Golf for IBM Corporation in Poughkeepsie NY for 20 years.  Then I owned a driving range here in Ft Myers for10 years.

My philosophy in teaching is to make the game as much fun as possible.  I believe in learning the game with the ball on a tee.  I even want my beginners teeing the ball up on the course in the beginning.  Manny Professional practice of tees because they are working on their swing and do not want a lie to affect the ball flight.  I do believe in some swing aids but it comes down to grip, stance, swing and being able to trust your club to hit the ball not you.  I am different in that I do not believe you “try” to kept your head down and left arm straight.  They are important but you are doing some wrong causing those problems.
