Personal Info

My History:  I was born and raised at my PGA member father’s side in Atlanta GA.  I grew up on courses with iconic names like East Lake and Augusta.  But, during my working and family raising experiences I served as an air traffic controller, supervisor, and senior manager for the Federal Aviation Administration in duty stations from Atlanta, San Juan PR, Memphis, New York, Kansas City, Jacksonville, and Salt Lake City.  I retired in 1997 to pursue my dream of becoming a PGA Professional.

At Glenmoor, we have focused on fundamentals in our instruction.  Range time integrated with playing and practice on and around the greens.  Recently I have added video lessons, which give the student an idea of exactly what they are accomplishing.  I have developed an extensive Junior Golf Program which has been in existence  now for some 11 years.

We have developed a working partnership with Granite Peaks Continuing Education to offer group golf lessons at a particularly reasonable rate through Granite Peaks.

Group and individual lessons are available almost any day of the week except Sundays.  Give me a call on your path to a more enjoyable game.

Experience

As a PGA member I have played in local events and even gave the Senior PGA tour a shot.  Immediately upon retiring from FAA, I attended Monday qualifying for 7 PGA Senior Tour events.  Sadly, I failed to make any tournaments.  However, I found out that when the TV ad said, “These guys are good.”…They actually meant it.

I was selected for the 2003 Utah/Arizona Governor’s cup team based on my playing during the season.  I also served as Tournament Manager for the Utah Section PGA for 22 months during 2002-03.

Since I live adjacent to the golf course, getting to the course for lessons is convenient both for me and my students.

Rates

Single lessons are $40 per lesson (usually between 45 minutes and 1 hour).  A series of 3 individual lessons is $110.  A series of 6 lessons is $200.  Group lessons are based on how many students are attending.  Basically we add $10 per lesson per individual.  For example, a 3 lesson series for 3 individuals together would cost $170 for the entire group.  Thus each individual would get the 3 lesson series of instruction for $57.

In addition, Group classes of 5 weekly lessons are scheduled throughout the year with cost normally being $99  per individual with class sizes normally limited to 8 to 10 students.
