Personal Info

I have been a member of the PGA of America since 2004.  My experience started by working as the Assistant Golf Professional at Thousand Oaks Club in Michigan.  In my 8 years working there I annually gave over 200 golf lessons, as well as conducted numerous golf schools and clinics.  Upon leaving that position, my focus was to assist as many golfers as possible to reach their true potential.  Thus, Pinchaser was created.

I believe in focusing on the fundamentals of the golf swing.  This includes the grip, alignment, and set up positions.  Most every fault that a player develops in their golf swing are the result of poor fundamentals.  If you can master these three elements, the rest of the golf swing will fall into place.

I enjoy working with all players.  Young or old, male or female.  Every golfer presents a new opportunity to me, in allowing them to play to their true potential.  It is a process and a journey that I enjoy taking with every single one of my students.

My proudest success story comes from the very first golf lesson I ever gave as professional.  A wonderful woman came to me wanting to take lessons, so that she may spend more time with her husband once they both were retired in a couple of years.  She had never touched a golf club in her life, and quite literally didn’t know which end of the club to hold on to.  Our first lesson was a bit rocky…for both of us.  But we forged on, and we worked together on a weekly basis for an entire golf season.

The next spring, I was working in the golf shop when she came in all smiles.  Upon asking how she had been, she was elated to inform me that she had shot a 47 for 9 holes over the winter months while in Florida.  It was that moment that I decidedly wanted to pursue teaching others about their golf games, and helping anyone that I could to reach their potential.

Experience

A part of my experience of teaching golf has been the opportunity to work with other great instructors, and to learn from them.  One such person has been Patti Butcher.  Ms. Butcher is now the Head Golf Professional at Blythefield Country Club in Michigan.  She was recently named the LPGA Golf PRofessional of the Year.  Along with this great distinction, she was named on of the 50 Greatest Women Teachers in America by Golf Digest in 2010.  Along with being included in Golf for Women Magazine’s Top 50 Teachers seven times.

The opportunity that Ms. Butcher provided to me has aided in the development of my personal golf instruction programs.
