Greetings, my name is Anthony Land and I am the Director of Golf for the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham, Alabama.  We have 54 holes of golf including our Academy of Golf.  I have been a PGA Member since 1995 and have been with the Trail for seventeen (17) years working at five of our facilities in Alabama.

Our Academy of Golf (www.rtjgolf.com/academy/) offers all types of instruction for all ages utilizing video, V1, K-Vest and Trackman.  Lessons may be booked online for our instructors.

My teaching philosophy was formed early in my PGA career while studying Earnest Jones book, Swing the Club head.  This philosophy is centered around the club being controlled by the large muscles and that there is always a center to the fulcrum of the golf swing.  Much like in Mr. Jones’ example of a weight on the end of a string (think of a grandfather clock).  In the golf swing, the club opens on the way back and closes on the follow through (open the door – close the door).  This is a simplistic approach to teach impact which is by far the most important part of the swing, delivering the club square to the target.  It doesn’t matter what it looks like,  we are all different, as different as our finger prints.  The most important part of the golf swing is the grip, you can’t perform unless your grip is correct.
